World Trade Day 2017
We were thrilled to be a sponsor of this year’s World Trade Day. It is an annual event hosted by the World Trade Center, the premier international business resource in the Rocky Mountain region. The WTC provides comprehensive international trade services and key global contacts to facilitate and expand trade and international business throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.
The theme for this year’s World Trade Day was Containers to the Cloud: Trade as Goods, Services and Knowledge which focused on the diverse nature of international trade around the movement of products, services, and knowledge across borders.
The energy of the event was palpable, and attendees were engaged by the various break out sessions. Some of the highlights of the day included:
Breakfast Keynote:
Derek Gianino, Director of Trade Policy, US Chamber of Commerce, “Is Trade Under Attack? A View from Washington”
Luncheon Keynote:
We were simultaneity engrossed, educated and entertained by Dubai Future Foundation CEO to Keynote World Trade Day 2017. Dr. Noah Raford, Chief Operating Officer of the Dubai Future Foundation and adviser on “futures, foresight and innovation” to Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates. His talk covered a lot of ground including the future of automation and its impact on jobs.
Gallagher’s Trade Show booth was attended to by our President, Brad Whittle, Import Manager Katie Flanigan and Director of Sales, Dennis Shehi.
Katie, a veteran of several World Trade Days, had this to say about this year’s event. “World Trade Day is always a great event which allows industry professionals to discuss current trade-related issues and collaborate on new ideas to encourage growth and prosperity throughout all aspects of international trade. As this year’s event was the largest in Denver to date, we had the opportunity to sit down with a wide variety of key clients and service providers to determine ways our joint efforts may benefit trade practices as a whole. The World Trade Center is a wonderful resource for all small businesses looking to expand and grow internationally. We look forward to supporting both the World Trade Center and World Trade Day events in the future.”
We also want to congratulate, Project Cure, for winning the Governor’s Excellence in Exporting. Gallagher Transport, in conjunction with another partner, helps clear customers for Project C.U.R.E’s imports. Project C.U.R.E. is the largest provider of donated medical supplies and equipment to developing countries around the world.
